For years I have been using Hostgator as my hosting service for all my websites however four months ago I started seeing my website going down and Hostgator offering flimsy solutions to the problems I was receiving. I went back and forth with them for a few weeks before I gave up and decided it was time to look for a more reliable web hosting service.
After days of searching through many review site and speaking with customer service of all of the web hosting companies I decided Siteground was the solution for me.
When I was contacting Hostgator live customer service I was waiting 20-30 minutes on average sometimes even longer before I got through to someone, this not only wasted my time but if my internet got disconnected I would have to wait this time again, for one of the biggest web hosting companies this is just unacceptable!
I called up Hostagtor and this took around ten minutes on average to get hold of a customer service representative, I asked why sometimes my questions were not answered fully or they customer service representatives just couldn’t give me a solution. He told me that Hostgator were recruiting new customer service representatives and some were still getting up to speed with the information.
The first thing that got me very interested in Siteground was the speed at which I could speak with one of their customer service representatives. Every time I have logged into the Siteground’s live chat I have been connected with a live chat customer service representative within one minute. This blew my mind, I thought this was crazy and was a one off, so I tested this ten more times and the same result came up. This by far was the quickest customer service response I had received and I knew that if I ever had a problem I could have it resolved in minutes rather an hour.
The waiting time to speak with Hostgator customer service team is too long and this still has not be improved since the time I switched to Siteground.
Transferring of my websites
Transferring all of my data from Hostgator to Siteground took a few days. I gave the technical team at Siteground all of the information to transfer and they got to work.
I did get frustrated by the time it was taking to transfer across but as I could speak with one of their customer service representatives very quickly they were able to make me understand what was happening and this calmed me down.
Website Speed and Downtime
My website speed is always quick and responsive, I have never had any of my websites go down, freeze or become slow.
I personally use Siteground and recommend them to anyone who wants to start a website.
